Character Name: Haruka Tenoh

Appearance: An androgynous female with sandy blond hair and grey-blue eyes that seem to match the weather, her hair is kept in a boy-cut which furthers her androgyny. She does not have a flat chest, however, she’s just very practiced in the art of dressing like a guy and her manner is like one as well. Haruka is extremely tall for a woman and matches it with a powerful grace in her movements. As mentioned, Haruka likes to wear clothes that are more masculine but when she henshins to her senshi form she wears a navy blue skirt and a yellow ribbon on her chest, the typical costume of a sailor senshi.
Personality: The first thing most people think of when they meet Haruka is someone very cool and confident. She doesn’t let things get to her and seems to have an aura about her that says she knows what’s she doing. Haruka also tends to be a bit flirty with girls too, doting on them and showing cute ones especial attention. She is very protective of those she cares about, especially those she deems weaker than herself.
Haruka can be stubborn at times and very focused on her goals, she never wavers from what she must do and it is this aspect that is seen most strongly in her senshi form. This protection is seen doubly so over two people: Michiru and Usagi. She would give her life for either of them, but most especially Michiru because to her life without that woman is meaningless.

Haruka can be seen as a bit cold and standoffish at times, her focus on her mission as a senshi means she can't let others get close to her. Obviously, she doesn’t like others to get involved in her affairs. She also has a hard time getting along with “popular men,” and while she can easily ruffle anyone’s feathers, it seems the same can be said for her,
and she can just as easily be flustered when teased (although it's mostly on Michiru who is able to do this).
Abilities: Haruka is a professional racer (cars, bikes, foot), she loves to move fast and doesn't like to be slowed down, and because
of that has won a lot of the races she has been a part of. Her time on the racetrack has also given her a decent knowledge of car engines and how they work. While she probably couldn't build one of her own she would definitely know how to fix one up. Haruka is also trained in martial arts, a black belt even, and has been shown to be able to go toe to toe against Makoto out of senshi form (Makoto being the stronger physically until Haruka showed up). Aside from being strong physically, Haruka has also shown a fair amount of musical ability in her few times at playing the piano along side Michiru. These traits are all within the norms of human ability and will, thus, not be affected.

However, Haruka is a sailor senshi and when she henshins has a lot of power both physically and magically. Sailor Uranus has control over the wind and can use it to attack enemies. In Manhattan, Haruka will not be as strong when in her senshi form, though still stronger than a normal human. Haruka can still henshin and while it won't time out on her, her attacks can only be used a very limited number of times a day. This includes the summoning of her sword talisman which will disappear when used for too long (even faster if she uses it's magical attack and not just as a sword). Her attacks will also not be as effective as they were back home and should she try to use more attacks than she is capable of her henshin will wear out and cause her to go back to her civilian form or possibly even faint.

Weaknesses: Haruka's biggest weakness is her love for Michiru, she is willing to sacrifice everything for that woman, even her own life. Haruka's next weakness is her mission, she puts it before herself and won't let anything stand in her way to achieve it. Right now, this mission is protecting the Princess and Prince from danger. Haruka also has a weakness to 'pretty girls' and will flirt a lot with them. It's mostly for play because she would never really betray Michiru.
Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider
History: Not much is known about Haruka's childhood, though we can probably assume a few things: that her family was wealthy and that she loved sports even at a young age. It is unknown whether her parents are still alive or not, but Haruka's real story begins when she was in junior high and began to have dreams of the end of the world. These dreams were given to her by a strange yet beautiful woman. Haruka didn't realize or accept it then but it was during those dreams (despite their foreboding warning) that she fell for the woman in her dreams. The dreams, however, terrified her. She knew that it had something to do with her fate and so she threw herself more fully into sports, trying to run from it all.

She couldn't escape it though and one day at the track field she met her, Michiru Kaioh. Haruka denied her pleas for help at first, insisting that it had nothing to do with her and she just wanted to run. She couldn't escape it forever though and one day, when she was about to race, she encountered her first youma. It was then that Haruka's henshin wand appeared but Michiru stopped her before she could touch it, saying that if she did her life would be changed forever. Michiru then went on to transform in front of Haruka and save her from the monster. Haruka, very upset by the teal haired woman being hurt, took the henshin wand anyway, knowing that it was her destiny and duty to share the burden of being a senshi with this woman.

So, their partnership started, and they set their sights on infiltrating the hive festering in Mugen Academy, the concentration of youma leading them there. They took their mission extremely serious, knowing that in order to find the talismans to prevent the end of the world meant sacrificing innocent lives. It was during their days at Mugen that they eventually encountered the other senshi, those of the Princess's inner court. Due to the way Haruka and Michiru were handling the pure heart situation they clashed many times with the ways the inners wanted to do things and often times they left the inner senshi baffled that two senshi like them could be doing something so cold as sacrificing human beings.

The mission was everything to them, and even when she discovered the identities of her fellow senshi, she turned a cold shoulder to their pleas to stop. She even went so far as to take Usagi's henshin crystal from her when they were given a message that a pure heart crystal had been found. The irony was, however, that the pure hearts belonged to both Michiru and Haruka. The lovers try to save each other but it fails miserably and when Haruka sees Michiru "die,” the woman gives up hope. She tells Usagi to find the Messiah for her and then shoots herself with the pure heart-stealing gun to take out her own heart. The crystallized heart transforms into a sword, Haruka's talisman, and Usagi is left to think Haruka is dead. However, this is not the end, as Sailor Pluto shows up to awaken the two and explains that they can live because their talismans are a part of them. Sailor Uranus and Neptune join their talismans with Pluto's orb to form the chalice which gives Sailor Moon a power up. This would seem like the end but it turns out Sailor Moon was not yet capable of using the chalice to its fullest and the Death Busters, those taking pure hearts, were now going to collect hearts to feed to their mistress, the one who would bring destruction.

This all leads to an ultimate showdown of course. Uranus and Neptune attempt to infiltrate the base by helicopter but it is blown up, Pluto stops time in order to save them but must sacrifice herself for breaking the taboo to stop time. Sailor Moon eventually saves everyone, as usual. However, despite her heroics, Uranus and Neptune can't seem to accept her as the messiah just yet. They provide one last test by attacking her, Sailor Moon manages to win, which makes the two outer senshi accept her and pledge their loyalty to her. They also offer their services as guardians to the newborn Hotaru and disappear from Usagi and the other's lives.

Haruka and Michiru aren't seen again for quite some time and when they are it is at an aquarium on a date and enjoying the night sky. Haruka notices 'shooting stars' and the two marvels over their number but the night is cut short when Haruka is cut by a falling shard of glass (the shooting stars are really pieces of a mirror). Michiru takes it out, just in time, as Haruka manages to avoid being possessed by the mirror shard). Instead, the mirror creatures from Nehelania attack them. Just when hope seems lost Hotaru shows up to boost their power and give them their 'Super' senshi forms. This power helps them to defeat Nehelania when she captures the Prince and endangers the Princess.

While Haruka is not as involved in the events around Galaxia’s take over of Earth, she does play her part in the incident along with Michiru. Haruka is extremely wary of the individual known as Seiya, mostly because of his attempt to take Mamoru’s place (in her eyes) and also his weaseling into Michiru’s dressing room at a concert. Haruka’s disapproval of Seiya increases ten-fold when she discovers that Seiya is also an alien senshi, one of the Starlights. Haruka, along with the other outers, practically ban them from seeing Usagi. They continually attempt to get the Starlights to leave, probably even partially blaming their presence for Galaxia’s arrival.

In the end, there is a final showdown with Sailor Galaxia. Uranus and Neptune betray the other senshi by pledging themselves to Galaxia and sacrificing their star seeds in exchange for the golden bracelets. They turn on Pluto and Saturn first, taking their star seeds to prove their loyalty and then going after Sailor Moon and the Starlights. It turns out, however, that this was all a plan to steal Galaxia’s star seed. The plan backfired when it turned out Galaxia did not possess a star seed. Galaxia was not amused by this and quickly erased Uranus and Neptune from existence, although before they fade they do manage to touch one more time.

Sailor Moon eventually managed to get Galaxia to see the error of her ways and brought her back to the side of good, and with this, all the star seeds were returned, bringing the senshi and Haruka back to life.

A little time passed, Haruka enjoying a happy life with Michiru. That is, of course, until she woke up to the destroyed city streets of Manhattan.
